'Biopsychosocial Injury Management'
Heads of Worker's Compensation Authorities & Heads of Compulsory Third Party, June 2011.
"A Biopsychosocial approach to injury management that provides programs tailored to the person's individual needs, has the best chance of maximising recovery and return to work outcomes. Adopting this model recognises that a person's fears and beliefs about their injury and the impact on their return to work and health, should be included in injury management"
Abilita Providers know that rehabilitation can only be tailored when influential beliefs, attitudes, expectations and perceptions held by the individual are identified and measured. This is because behaviour change only occurs when these factors change. The Abilita Program uses self-report questionnaires to provide baseline measurement of these factors, plus post-coaching re-measurement.
