About Us
Abilita Services is the proprietor of the Intellectual property rights of the Abilita Program which was developed over the past 6 years by Pam Garton and her previous business partner in the rehabilitation consulting company IMconcepts Pty Ltd. Abilita Services Pty Ltd was formed in 2006 to continue development of the program and to make it available to the wider injury management industry.
Since 2008, the company has been under the ownership of Pam and Peter Garton, who have further developed the information technology components and range of services offered within the program.
Pam Garton, Managing Director has a career spanning over 20 years in Vocational Rehabilitation including management of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver the small group program facilitating self-management skills for individuals with musculoskeletal injury. She is an Occupational Therapist with post graduate qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Adult Education. Pam heads up the Abilita training team and oversees all program updates. As an industry leader, Pam has been an active member of the National Council of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA) since its inception.
Peter Garton, Director, is a Solicitor and formerly Insurance Assessor with many years experience in the workers’ compensation industry. Peter also holds an economics degree and oversees the business management and I.T. aspects of the business.
Since 2009 Joshua Garton has held the position of Business Manager at Abilita Services, he holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and a Diploma of Personal Injury Management, Workers Compensation, and runs the finance, marketing and IT aspects of the company.
Pam, Peter and Josh are supported by a Software Programmer/System Administrator, Administration Officer and Abilita trainers who are experienced Abilita course practitioners.
